Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, It’s SuperStylist, Carmen Stevenson! Carmen’s passion for hair started at a very young age; she’d play make believe hair salon with kitchen scissors before eventually moving on to real shears and graduating from AVEDA. Aside from hairstyling being a dream job since childhood, Carmen additionally chose to work in this field for the peace it brings. For a creative soul like hers, hairstyling provides the artistic spark and satisfaction that saturates life with meaning; her role as a salon artist is a constant embracement of inspiration and creativity she once believed she had lost. Additionally, the shared gratification between stylist and client at the end of each appointment is, in Carmen’s words, what keeps [her] going.
Carmen’s future goal as a stylist is to become an educator, which presently pushes a strive for continuous growth and learning experiences. Though her driving passion alone catches the eyes of clients, she’s also cherished for working with the Hispanic/Latin community as she is bilingual herself.
When away from her second home (the cozy Salon Chateau), Carmen can be found in her own home where she enjoys cooking, gardening, or spending time with her baby boy, Mateo.

Despite traversing through a multitude of occupations, including waitressing and plant working, Hayli feels most connected with hair as it encourages creativity while simultaneously helping others feel more like their true selves. Her brilliant, creative drive draws her towards vivids, though she’s just as passionate and welcoming toward other services. Château: (n.) a large French country house or castle.
Although our castle is nestled in southern Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Salon Chateau proves everyday to be a home.
Here, stylists transform not only hair, but also the common misconception of vanity into its true face: self confidence. We recognize that self confidence is necessary to feel our best and true selves— to feel at home within ourselves.
In other words, a haircut is not simply a haircut; it is a step towards self love. It’s easy to say that self love stays where it is— within the self. However, we believe that self love expands into love towards others and the world.
When your attitude towards yourself is in a positive light, you’ll be surprised to realize that your attitude towards others is easily influenced, translating internal love into something external.
With every visitor that makes it to the salon chair, we hope to bring about a chain reaction of positivity into the world.
